YouTube says it really is a small world after all as the video-sharing site becomes a new home for many Walt Disney and Pixar movies. No longer is YouTube merely the home of stupid human tricks and cats doing crazy things because now you can kick back and enjoy films like Cars 2 and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides on the website.

The selection at YouTube isn’t what you’d consider overwhelming at the moment, but the number of available titles is expected to grow. As of this writing, Cars, Cars 2, Get Smart, Alice in Wonderland, and all the movies in the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise are just some of the titles that are available. Prices range from 99 cents to $4.99 and the rental period provides up to 30 days to start watching the film, although you only have 48 hours of viewing time after you actually start the video. The movies can be watched online, on Google TV (US and Canada only), and on your Android phone or tablet.

You can take a look at the Disney/Pixar films that YouTube has to offer by visiting YouTube and clicking the ‘Movie’ tab in the upper right corner of the screen. Once you’re on the movie page, just do a search for Disney and the results will show both Disney and Pixar films.

In addition to offering theatrical releases, YouTube and Disney have also entered into a partnership to bring “family-friendly” original series to viewers through a co-branded YouTube channel. The first original series, based on a Disney mobile game called Where’s My Water, debuts in February 2012.
